Frustrating email of the day: I worked with N. twice, Ms. B. - TopicsExpress

Frustrating email of the day: I worked with N. twice, Ms. B. worked with him (at length), and so did Mr. M. and he just was not understanding the concept of a topic sentence, either to find one in a given paragraph or to develop his own, given a paragraph, even when able to answer aloud. In this situation, we normally would excuse a student in Special Ed from this given I can statement, since they had tried their best and so did we. It sounds like this should not be the case for Noah, given the communications you have given us recently. So, if we grade him as-is right now in English, he would not be passing. Is that how you want us to go about it? Or, do you want us to give him an S in English and then put on the back the ones that he CAN do and those that we excused him from, so that further grades/teachers have accurate information? So- you will just push him on through or fail him? Funny- when I worked with him he finally grasped the concept of a topic sentence. It took a few times, but he got it- and said OH!!! I get it now! So what am I doing differently? ARRGHHHHH!!!!!!
