Frustrating weekend at Burnham Market, as I only ran Billy the Biz cross country, he was doing his first CIC**, thrilled with him as he was double clear. He is fairly new to the sport, having previously show jumped so he needs some more practice in the dressage department. He has got to learn to stop squealing and bucking whenever he starts his canter work. Life is one big game to him, but exciting that he got his qualification for a three day. Having run him slowly I made the head scratching decision not to risk the others because of the hard ground, with Badminton in three weeks and a long season ahead I didnt want them getting jarred up. More annoying was the fact that Billy Beware led the dressage with a pb and then show jumped clear. Red, Or Noir and Sandman all did competitive tests with just a few small blips here and there that need fine tuning. All show jumped well except for an excitable Red who was struggling to concentrate with the cross country in ear and eyeshot. Due to not running cross country I will have to have a rethink of plans for their Badminton preparations. Happy Easter, dont eat too many chocolates!!!!! Pipx
