Frustration! Slowly downloaded Monteverdi Choir, A Capella Pilgrimage, sung at Christ Church Spitalsfields, compositions by Tallis, Byrd, White, Phillips, Tomkins, and Unknown. Mail.ru offers two speeds, regular for free, and bistro for pay. Maximum speed was 5.9 kbs, and it took all night and all day. When I opened it, the recordings were in .flac, not .mp3 or .wav. Tried to download programs to convert the files. Flac to mp3 offered a free download. Yes, the download was free, but the program wasnt. It pretended to convert, but would not deliver the results until I registered and paid. Foobar 2000 would not work. Then I remembered that I had X Recode II. It appeared to work. It turned out mp3s. Dragged them to Cyber Link, burned them onto a CD. Put it into my CD player, it will not play. It also will not play in the computer port. I got a message to insert a disc. But the tracks on my computer will play. I ate a delicious cherry Stollen as I wrote this.
