Enfield United Martin Shane Jamie O Jamie B Hakim Good evening goals fans and welcome to another Thursday night feature, showcasing 2 teams from league 2 who will both be looking to kick start there season tonight. Enfield make the quickest start, with Jamie B hitting the inside of the post with a low stinging shot. Enfield are rewarded for their pressure soon after, as Hakim lays the ball to Shane who taps in to give them the lead. They then double their advantage through a smart finish from Hakim. Some great battling from Alex sees the Fat Boys open there account, as he easily beats Martin in the Enfield goal. A thunderous long range strike from Sam levels it up and the Fat Boys are right back in it. Both teams are creating chances in a rather open game, but neither team is finding the target, which could prove costly later on. A smart turn from Jamie B is then superbly finished before Hakim adds his 2nd, and in the blink of an eye Enfield have restored their 2 goal advantage. A quick counter attack nearly results in another goal for Enfield, but Jamie O is denied by a great piece of keeping from Charlie. The Fat Boys are then awarded a penalty! Up steps Sam, can he make it count? Of course he can! He coolly knocks it in to the bottom corner making the gap just the 1 goal. All of a sudden, Fat Boys just cant seem to miss! First Alex drills an effort past the keeper and then adds to it with a rifled shot. The half time whistle goes and Fat Boys hold the advantage! Half Time - Fryen Fat Boys 5 - Enfield United 4 Enfield will feel hard done by as we start the 2nd half, but it seems a tactical substitution is in order as Shane replaces Martin between the sticks. The captain obviously feeling Martin just wasnt quite at the races today. Enfield definitely look the brighter of the 2 teams in the early exchanges, but again they are failing to test Charlie. Hakim finally hits the target but another great save from Charlie keeps it out. Its very tense out there, with neither team wanting to give an easy opening. Unfortunately for the Fat Boys, Jamie O opens the 2nd half scoring with a lovely finish which means we are back to all square. Enfield are really starting to press and finally becomes too much as Martin finally puts the ball past Charlie to give them the lead. But the Fat Boys hit straight back as Tom fires on through the keepers legs. But the tie is short lived as a slick counter finishes with Jamie B slotting into the bottom corner. Alex is determined not to go down without a fight as he again hits the woodwork! This is going to be a nail blighting finish! Credit must go to Shane as it looks like his tactical change at half time is a stroke of genius, with Martin adding 2 quick goals to all but put this game to bed. Jamie B then adds another before Alex, who has been the player of the game, adds a cheeky finish from kick off, which looks to only be a consolation for the Fat Boys. Sam then adds another from range but unfortunately its just too late. Martin adds another just as the final whistle goes. Final Score - Fryen Fat Boys 8 - Enfield United 11 A great game of football all round tonight, with Enfield just having too much for the Fat Boys who put in a solid performance. Enfield will hope this can now build some momentum in there season, while the Fat Boys will be looking for a win next week.
