Fuel reduction burn at Strahan tomorrow The Parks and Wildlife Service (PWS) advises nearby residents that a fuel reduction burn will be undertaken on Crown land along the Lyell Highway near Charles Street, Strahan on Thursday, 21 August 2014. The aim of the 36 hectare burn is visitor, asset and property protection through the reduction of buttongrass fuels within the Crown land, which is on the north-eastern boundary of Strahan. People should be aware that during the burning operation, there will be smoke and fire vehicles on nearby roads and smoke across Strahan and the harbour. People with medical conditions are advised to have a personal plan for avoiding smoke from this burn.
