Fulani Cattle rearers or Boko Haram? There are two bands of marauders are killing off Nigerians full-time today, both mostly defined by what we dont know about them. But generally we know that when the holocaust-style attack strikes in Yobe, Borno or Adamawa,it is attributed to Boko Haram. If a bit further to the heartland or elsewhere, especially Benue or Plateau, it is named a Fulani Cattle herders attack. In fact, the BBC suggested another name, Cattle Rustlers. These are the putative names of these groups and the rest is left for anyone to fill in. Yet Katsina was added to the group yesterday and over 50 people were murdered. This was in the hills of the alarming attempt on the convoy of Benue governor. The latter was so infuriated he ordered the people, so say the report, to mobilize and defend themselves. We are pleading with the security services to just defend Nigeria. The country is under attack, simple. A coarse and disorderly crowd boasted early in the week of seizing the government house in Enugu for four hours attempting to create a nation of their own.and the incident didnt even last two days on the headlines. These are not signs of a normal society but those of an unravelling community.
