Full Time - Villa 1 Southampton 1 Villa conceded with 10 minutes to go as Southamptons 65% possession finally told. Gabby gave us the lead after chasing a long clearance forward and beating the on rushing keeper. He let us down when he should have tracked Clyne who ran on to a Bertrand pass unopposed to beat a superfluous Guzan. Both full backs were settled and competent but for me MOTM had to be shared between Clark and Okore who were immense under the pressure despite not playing for so long. An honourable mention goes to Wiemann who was relentless in his tracking of Clynes forward runs. Two draws in a row now and it was definitely a point gained as not many would have predicted us getting anything from a Southampton team who had won 8 out of 9 games. Hopefully we can build on this against the similarly placed teams in the next few fixtures with Burnley, Leicester and Palace coming up and Benteke only suspended for one more match. Not a win or a classic game for our 140th anniversary and Lamberts 100th game.
