Bright Futures Academy is a private inner-city Christian school located in the heart of Atlanta, Georgia, serving the Grove Park community in west Atlanta. We are seeking a full-time certified history teacher (middle and high school) who serves the Lord and has a heart to see students not only master history, but to grow emotionally, socially, and spiritually. Moving into our own facility this year has opened up many opportunities for our students to enhance their learning through technology and expanded academic resources and support. Candidate should possess a desire to grow within a professional learning community and exhibit a passion for teaching and learning. Candidates should be proficient in classroom management, building student relationships, and differentiated instruction and learning styles. Candidates should be creative and flexible in regard to curriculum planning and implementation and be proficient in the integration of technology into classroom instruction, including Promethean boards. Additional selection criteria would include understanding the unique developmental needs of middle and high school students, strong problem-solving skills, and demonstration of strong written and verbal skills. Additional requirements would include a four-year degree, state certification in middle and high school, criminal background check, and teaching experience is preferred.
