Fun Fact Friday! This Weeks 40 years in Review - 1995 In March, Debbie Deutsch changes roles, from parent of a preschooler to Preschool Director. Ground-breaking ceremonies for the building expansion took place in late April. Phase I includes expanded seating in the main sanctuary, taking us to almost 600 seats from a previous capacity of 350. It will increase High Holiday seating from 1500 to 2350. In addition, a new lobby with entrance vestibules, 5 new classrooms, a new library, an expanded Bimah and remodeled restrooms will also be completed at an approximate total cost of 1.1 million dollars. On April 30th, Etz Chaim holds its first Baccalaureate service honoring our graduating high school seniors. On May 7th, the creation and development of Ramah Darom, Ramah of the South, was approved by the National Ramah Commission of the Jewish Theological Seminary. It will include a year round conference facility and a summer camp. Our library committee, co-chaired by Janice Levine, spends the summer cataloging, stamping, and getting ready to re-shelve books in the new library. The Mens Club establishes The Bob Goldman Scholarship Fund to assist youth who could not otherwise participate in Jewish programs in Israel and the United States.
