Fun Fact about me: Im Canadian. Bonus Fun Fact: my father is French Canadian and I grew up going to a French Immersion school! Oui, cest vrai. Je parle Français. So, I have a special place in my heart for traditional French Canadian dishes, like Tourtière. There are two different traditional versions of Tourtière. The one my mom used to make (her recipe was 400 years old taken from the Canadian Archives) is the meat pie version, with a mostly meat filling cooked into a double pie crust. I used my moms recipe for Tourtière and instead turned it into the base for a Shepherd’s Pie! Delicious, comforting, and at least for me, all the flavors of home.
