Fun Fact of the Day: A mother slow loris protects her baby from predators by licking its body with her poisonous saliva. The slow loris is the only primate in the world that contains poisons. It gets its poisons from glands on its arms. The brachial (arm) glands secrete a noxious, brown fluid when the loris is threatened. The loris then licks this fluid, and mixes it with its own saliva. This activates the toxins in the exudates, creating a potentially lethal venom. Following this, the loris then injects this venom into its attacker through use of its sharp incisors, thus delivering the toxin into its enemys bloodstream.
