Fun email to Daily Anarchist today: Subject: socialism Dear sir- Please spare us your thoughts- another Ayn Rand wannabe- If government were allowed to function w/o Republican obstruction, we would be much better off indeed! Your brand of individualism fails to consider the social contract!! Taxes are the cornerstone!! Im sure you use many public services and might have to collect SS at one point- maybe you already do, that would be entirely hypocritical!! Im not particularly fond of Ayn Rand. Also, obstruction is part of the system, so saying government would function without it is the same as saying government doesnt function. Youd have to have a system where people were not free to disagree, and just forced to do what you want them to do. I dont have a brand of individualism. Im just an individual. Pretty self evident fact if you ask me. The social contract is neither. Taxation is theft. Public services are a monopoly, so its not like we have a choice. And the good ol USA is just a chalk outline around historical unprosecuted mass murder... like all national boundaries.
