Fundamental Duty # 5 - renounce practices derogatory to the dignity of women but unfortunately most practices in this country are against the dignity of women be i with female feticide, the Damini rape and murder issue or the grave wrong committed by Tarun Tejpal. . 26/11 has been celebrated by all of us at CtrlS - iCONGO KarmaVEER Puraskaar , REX - Ideas for Action and iCONGO as the CITIZEN ACTION DAY, when we pledge to preserve our values and fulfill our fundamental duties. 26/11 is the day, every year we announce our Karmaveer award recipients but this year we shall be REVOKING Tarun Tejpals Karmaveer award. It is a sad moment for all of us at Karmaveer and for the entire country and all of us as Indians that crimes against women are happening in all segments of our society and I always said it is only a myth that only people like Ram Singh are predatory beasts , because it has always been true that men in so called elitist societies who wield power are more dangerous and predatory. Our mission at iCONGO is to RIGHT every WRONG and as a mark of our solidarity to stand and fight against all wrongs in society, we in discussion with our Karmaveer award recipients and fellows have decided to revoke Taruns award and honour bestowed upon him for his journalistic work. The Karmaveer Puraskaar global awards for social justice and citizen action are given to people from all walks of life for being the change and making a difference in our world and the sanctity of the award is very coveted by all of us. Let this be a lesson for all to learn that it does not matter who you are or what power you wield as righteous ethics of society cannot be compromised or twisted because any one individual thinks he or she can get away with doing wrong and using clout to suppress it. We at Karmaveer stand up and speak out today against Tarun Tejpal to express our solidarity with the survivor of the appalling and dastardly incident that happened at Thinkfest in Goa. We all at iCONGO and Karmaveer extend full support to her in the fight against injustice meted out to her. Let this revoking of honour with Tarun Tejpal be a caution to all of us in India and across the world TO REMEMBER, that it takes an entire lifetime to build our credibility and honour. but just one foolish, evil wrong action to lose it. To do right or do wrong is not just a circumstance or just a weak moment but a choice and each of us is personally responsible for the consequences of the choices we make.
