Funeral Plans A fundraiser will be held later this week to help fund the group of comrades that will attend Obilo Kobilo’s final journey. This is according to the chairman of the committee tasked for planning the journey to the deceased home in Migori, former MUSO Secretary General Nathaniel Akadima. Mr Akadima informed The 3rd Eye that the dean of students had notified the committee that the University will not fund the voyage as the deceased had graduated and no longer a student of Moi University. “We had requested for at least five buses but the dean argued that Obilo was no longer a student...but he promised to offer support at an individual level,” Akadima said. He added that the committee will inform those willing to attend the burial the amount of money for the fare to Nyanza and back. However, the committee will consider subsidising the cost according to the amount that will be raised from the fund raising drive. Akadima informed 3rd Eye News Desk that the committee had set a target of half a million and that members of the committee and other comrades were going round campus with pro-forma to help raise the amount. Appealing to comrades for contribution, Akadima said the late Obilo had set a record and was a fighter of comrades’ rights and thus MUSO has to be well represented in the burial.
