Funeral of Muong Ethnic Group In general Traditional funeral of the Muong people can be a system of rituals take place for 12 days and nights. All the rituals which aims to make the soul of the late rupture with the living world and join the world of the dead. That reason is simply but it includes many rituals which contained in the many cultural activities with high moral values. The most important thing in the ritual is controling is to lead the soul of the deceased to perform the funeral procedures. Muong people concept that: when people died, at no funeral and during a funeral they are no longer mortal and not a ghostg; however, they have divine power that the human cannot control or beg. Making the deceased souls follow to perform the ritual of his funeral can only be done by “Mo”, so Mo regarded as the soul of the funeral in Muong. The daughter-in-law have to wear red coat in the funeral. The highlights in Muong funeral rite is through these rituals, Muong people want the next generation of community to overcome the loss member of the community are more closed to the homeland and preserve the discipline, the custom which has helped the community be more permanent and develop.
