Funeral services for Russell B. (Rusty) King III, 59, of Leland, MS will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 1, 2014 at First Baptist Church, Leland. He passed away October 29, 2014. Burial will be in Leland-Stoneville Cemetery under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Leland. Rusty was born in Jackson, MS on December 17, 1954, the oldest of four children, to the late Dr. Russell B. King Jr. and Kate Alford King of Greenville. He graduated from Greenville High School in 1972 and attended the University of Mississippi. Rusty moved to New Orleans several years later to work at Whitney National Bank. Four years later, he moved back to Greenville and began employment at Dixie Bearings. In 1982 Rusty married Nancy Jo Morlino of Leland. Rusty was employed by Dixie Bearings (now Applied Industries Technologies) in Greenville for 22 years. In 2002 he purchased Buster’s Package Store in Leland. Active in civic and church affairs, Rusty was a member of First Baptist Church in Leland, where he served as a deacon. He was a member of Masonic Lodge Number 490. In 2003 Rusty was chosen as Leland Junior Auxiliary King. Rusty actively served on the Board of Aldermen for the City of Leland for the past 23 years. He was also an avid supporter of the Ole Miss Rebels. He was preceded in death by his mother, Kate Alford King, and father, Dr. Russell B. King Jr. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Jo Morlino King of Leland; daughter, Kate Patterson (John Calvin) of Como; son, Matthew Morlino King of Leland; two brothers, Alan King of Mobile and Richard King (Laurie) of Mobile; sister, Kristin Lagarde (Larry) of Little Rock, AR; and a granddaughter, Mackenzie King of Leland. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services in the sanctuary at First Baptist Church in Leland.
