Funny, just 12 days ago (on 11 August, 2014) I had decided to post this... You dont have to read this, like it, or even share this. This is just me, thinking into my Facebook. If I had known then, what I know now... Its actually a conundrum, because, if you knew then, what you know now, you wouldnt actually know it. Heres why... If you could use knowledge that you have now, then...then you wouldnt experience the events that gave you the knowledge you have now. For example; If I had known before joining the Marine Corps, what I know now, I would have been a Conscientious Objector. If I was a Conscientious Objector, I wouldnt have joined the Marine Corps, wouldnt have worked in Law Enforcement, wouldnt have kept re-enlisting in the Army, wouldnt have received all the training that I received from both the Marine Corps and the Army, which comprises numerous different topics. I wouldnt have visited all the countries that Ive been to, learned ANY of the things I learned, having been there. I wouldnt have made ANY of the choices I made along the way, because I wouldnt have been there, for those choices to be presented. So, the question becomes...who WOULD I have been, if none of the events that happened growing up, hadnt have happened, which started the domino effect that led me to once idolize police officers and military...?!? Would I have woken up sooner, or not at all? I know, that I can itemize the things that happened to me as a child, and what effect they had on me...but, what good would that do. Say what you will about Facebook, but, if nothing else, it has been very therapeutic for me, over the last few years.
