Funny story, but true... Ok, until recently, I saw prayer differently. I didnt really comprehend the whole scheme of prayer to God. I, being raised in a private Christian school at a young age, and in church most of my life am in awe at myself for not understanding fully... Ok, story time: Ive not been one to really ever pray for my own personal needs, well, except for dinner and bedtime... Ive always prayed for peace over my household, safety and security over my wife and children, nourishment to my body at mealtimes.. But, never really for anything that I, as GOD`s son, needed. ie, finances, clothes, house, ect.. Because, Ive just thought to myself, if GOD wanted me to have it, he would provide it :-) Now, on this note... I broke down and prayed that GOD would alot some money for new work boots, I really needed them.. Two days later, I was back at the shop duct taping my old ragged steel toed tennis shoes like I had been for sometime. Then, out of nowhere, a guy I work with asked me what size shoes I wear. I replied, 10 1/2. Mind you, this guy is agnostic / atheist. He makes a call to his mother and asks his mother what size work boots she picked up at a yard sale, used. The next thing I know, his mother shows up with 2 pair of work boots and a pair of tennis shoes... Sizes 8 1/2 and 9 1/2 wide. Haha... I took one look at the tags and said, not my size :-) He says, sorry dude, I tried :-) Later that night after work, I tried on the boots... 9 1/2 wide fit my 10 1/2 feet....lol GOD even had satan, do his bidding for me :-) Moral: Not only did my father come through for me with used, FREE, work boots.. But, he shrunk my feet to accommodate the new boots..lol Even better Moral: I understand my relationship with GOD is much like my relationship with my wife, I need not only praise, but yet speak my wants and desires. Thank you, Father for showing me these small details I over look. For, I am human and fallible... In Christ, Amen
