Funny story of the week...While practicing "Read to Self" I noticed one girl had left her book box on her desk when she quietly walked to her desk to switch books. (We had practiced about 4 times at this point in the morning.) I decided not to ring the chimes because she was so quiet and the rest of the class was on task. About 2 minutes later, she does it again. So I rang the chimes to signal that we needed to gather at our carpet. I explained that one student had "forgotten" their book box on their desk so I needed to ring the chimes. This student then told me, "Mrs. Wolf, I did not forget my box. I was tired of carrying it back and forth because it was heavy." Crack me up!!!
