Funny thing... I talked to a realtor about remote land and when I tell them about how I lived in New Mexico and how remote that property was they are floored and in awe as to how remote that really is. I do tend to miss that way of life at times. Especially these days. When your nearest neighbors are 1 mile in one direction and 3 miles in the other direction and your mail box is 4.5 miles away and only gets regular mail on Monday, Wednesday & Fridays and the person driving the mail truck is basically a rolling Post Office with envelopes and stamps and scales and such. And when you have to drive 3 miles to fetch water once or twice a week.... then you know that you are in a remote area. Knock it all that you want, but you have no idea how peaceful it is far away from civilization. You only know it if you have lived it. It tests you.
