Fur Family Updates! Sticky Is doing very well since starting - TopicsExpress

Fur Family Updates! Sticky Is doing very well since starting on steroid therapy for her severe allergies. The itching did come back, so we needed to set her up with an oral med to take on a regular basis. She is tolerating that very well, other than being a bit more moody than is normal, and feeling pretty good in general. Sylvester Seems to have conquered the chylothorax and has been getting very good asthma control with the Native Remedies Amazapet and Respo-K combo. Through the summer, Syvie needed almost no treatment at all. Autumn and Spring are a bit rough for any creature with asthma! Overall, he is doing great. Saraphina Is struggling a bit this asthma season, but staying well controlled with Amazapet and Respo-K. Still no steroid meds, so WOOHOO! She has calmed down considerably and is no longer the bully of the house - lol - she leaves that domain to Zoey. Zoey Is currently on a Native Remedies combo of Aggression Formula and PetCalm. Sometimes it seems to be helping, other times it seems to do nothing. The only reliable therapy is when Boomer (our sweet dog buddy) visits. He barks at any of the cats who try to fight, so things are extremely calm and happy when he is here - for this reason and many others! We will be visiting the vet soon to explore actual medication options for Zoey. She is still an incredibly sweet cat, and Sylvies second BFF (Saraphina is his first!). Adam He is pure love and PURRfection. Since we adopted him, he has lost a bit of weight. It turns out that he enjoys zoomies quite a lot, even at age 11 1/2! His activity and energy have increased a lot, and he is definitely our most snuggly lap cat. Like his brother, Sylvie, Adam is very in tune with the emotions of the household. If anyone is feeling sad, they can expect big time Adam snuggles! Rena Her confidence increases more and more by the day. She has definitely chosen her hooman, and it is Little G (boy hooman). She sleeps on his bed every night, protects him fiercely, and considers him her own. It is beautiful to see their bond continue to grow, as Little G becomes calmer and Rena becomes more confident. Rena has been venturing out of Little Gs room often now, opting for the kitchen feeding station instead of the hallway one. Were glad she is feeling brave! Sven (our barn foster) Is still hiding from us. We believe he is about as feral as they get. We provide fresh food (wet and dry) and water for him daily, and he sure seems to love being out of the shelter and having free run of the barn. He remains indoors only, and we are constructing shelters for him to stay cozy this winter. Midwest winters can get pretty brutal, even within the shelter of a barn. Were also looking into some sort of heating system for the barn. Overall, Sven is doing well. Mommy continues to try to work with him, but mostly it is getting him used to her voice by talking calmly to him when she is in the barn. We dont think he will ever be social, we just hope to earn his trust. Kittens We have not brought more kittens home yet, but the plan is to do so in the near future. We will definitely let mew know when this happens! We really miss having kittens! Weve received recent updates on both Hank and Hannah banana - both are doing great!! Last we heard, our tiny Hannah girl is nearly 4 pounds! WOW! Were so excited for her and proud of her, as well as extremely grateful to her Mom and Dad for being the amazing parents they are.
