Further to an interesting post a few days ago I went to Natural Horse Bedding, at Greendale today and they sell a variety of bedding. They have good quantities of 2nds Shavings at £6 per 20 kg bag (£5 + VAT) the bags have small holes in them that would need repair for long term outdoor storage, but would be easy to do with some gaffer tape. They are kept inside at the mill so clean. I think they usually have seconds but said it would be best to check. They then sell pallets for those wanting larger amount, but not sure of the price of 1sts. They also do a diddy 10 kg bag, again no price on that. They do chopped straw and a mix of chopped straw and shavings both at the 2nds price of £6 per bale. The chap I talked to was very helpful and I have a bale to try, but as long as they have 2nds at the time you call in they are happy to sell in small amounts. They also do wood pellets and other things, but again they are at full price.
