Further to my post yesterday (and P.S Id love to hear about your internet scam stories also!) There are now a bunch of copywriters in this group telling this guy their ideas on how to reverse type-2 diabetes. Writers. Not Nutritionists Not Doctors Not Dieticians Not Naturopaths Not Personal Trainers Not anyone remotely qualified to be handing out health advice. Do you all understand what is going on here? Marketers and copywriters out there (the shit unethical ones) are handing out ADVICE about health when they have no qualifications to do so. Writers research stuff and then write about it. Its pretty standard practice. But what you will never ever know from the inter webs is if that writer got their information from the client they were writing for OR if they just pulled it out of their ass from some other stuff they read on the net. To put it into context Its like me deciding that I reckon I could make a lot of money selling stock market advice to you. Even though I dont know jack shit about the stock market And then me hiring a writer to write such great copy which will make you want to buy my thing ... even though I have no knowledge in it and the writer has no knowledge in it. Instead of learning, we both just research so we can entice you. This my friends is where a lot of your internet health advice is coming from. There is a happy update from yesterdays post though, many other writers expressed their displeasure in the situation and the writer in question has decided he will NOT be working for that client. Sensible. This is why I write so many blogs and Facebook posts and write in my true voice. The way I write is the way I talk and think, you absolutely 100% know what youre getting with me. This is why I present so many client stories, before and after photos and testimonials. As a professional copywriter also, I would NEVER take on a client that wasnt cut of the same cloth I am. I wont sell my soul for any amount of money ... you could pay me $10k to write for a health company and Id turn it down if it appeared unethica This is why, when you ask me for help Ill get on the phone and actually talk to you and make sure my solution CAN help you. I DO turn clients away (or not try to talk them around) who arent suitable - I dont need to manipulate anyone out of their cash. Just be careful guys. Would you like to share your stories of Internet Gone Bad ... Ive got a quick one I follow this guy who is very well known and well respected, he writes his emails in a particular style. Well I got scammed by another dude masquerading as him. I trusted the guy so much that my little brain couldnt see the very tiny clue that would have screamed SCAM. The little clue, was that the email had come to my hotmail account ... not my gmail which is where I had signed up to. Had to cancel my whole credit card. Whats your story?
