Furuichi, a member of Fukushima prefectural assembly commented on Twitter that thyroid cancer wasn’t the most frequently observed disease among Chernobyl children. In July of 2012, he tweeted that myelocytic leukemia was the most frequently seen disease. 7/14/2012 “Today I visited the pediatric cancer research institute in Minsk to know a surprising fact. Among children in Chernobyl, myelocytic leukemia rate was the highest followed by brain tumor and thyroid cancer. They said they can’t see the connection between radiation and brain tumor. It was something new to me, I would love to be watching the situation in Japan.” His saying “I would love to be watching the situation in Japan” is criticized by Japanese internet users. Either way, it can be useless only to follow the thyroid cancer rate among Fukushima children apparently.
