Fury - No Spoiler Review Written and Directed by American David Ayer, Fury tells the story of Don Wardaddy Collier (Brad Pitt) and and his tank crew of 4 men as they play their part in the final throws of WWII in Nazi occupied Germany during April 1945. Wardaddy is battled hardened Sergeant who has developed a reputation as a talismanic figure who seems to be able to get his crew through the toughest battles and now looks as though he will be able to deliver his men back to their families as they join other Allies liberating the last few Nazi held German Towns and Villages. When the Co Driver of Wardaddys tank is killed in action, the veteran team are landed with Norman Ellison, played by Logan Lerman, Ellison has no fighting experience, and is a trained typist, who has been in the army for 8 weeks. As Wardaddy and his crew join up with the remnants of beleaguered Allied Forces they will embark on a last stand mission that will test their abilities, friendships and beliefs to the very limit. Down the years there have been plenty of War films that Fury is pitting itself against, but what David Ayer has done here with his brilliant cast is something very special. In every scene of this film, the pain, filth and desperation of war is painfully evident. All of the actors give brilliantly emotive performances that show the tough outer shell that was needed to show no weakness to their enemy or fellow crew members, but also in their individual pieces, the fragility of their minds after so long being in the close quarters of unspeakable horror. The stark realism that is Found in Fury is to be applauded and everywhere you look there is another dead young man, German and Allied, lying in the mud, the film doesnt flinch in its efforts to put you on the battlefield and encounter things that intelligent human beings, should not have to participate in to exist. If you enjoy the film, I would advise to sit through the main part of the end credits, just because theyre worth it! 4 and 1/2 Poppies out of 5 Cert 15 134 Minutes youtube/watch?v=p1xli7OTE_0
