G for GO .. have been a fan from the start .. a close to $2 BILLION project that began in 2010 with funds committed by both Federal and State Labour Governments at the time .. so much sledging over the years .. some understandable with works disturbing business and recreational activity along the route but you dont get anything good without a little difficulty and disturbance but the BENEFITS should now be clear .. the biggest trams in the world .. carrying the equivalent of 3 busloads of passengers on every trip .. have to say was somewhat hilarious to see some politicians aboard today keen to have their photos taken and to take the credit when they were reluctant to support the project if not blatantly in opposition to the light rail only a few short years ago .. some media outlets claimed it was a Tourist Tram today .. its not .. its an important transport infrastructure for all locals and visitors alike .. they packed the Trams today and hopefully passengers will pay to ride the Trams in the weeks .. months and years to come .. looking forward to the proposed extensions to the north linking up to Helensvale and the Rail Line and then south to the Airport at Coolangatta in the years to come .. it will prove to be one of the best additions to the Gold Coast ever .. may it last long and prosper .. congratulations to all the people at G-LINK .. the amazing staff and workers who built it and the people wholl keep it running smoothly and safely now .. G-DAY Gold Coast .. a huge success !!
