There was great joy and happiness as the Chief Executive Director/Music Director of G1 Chorale Voices was appointed as a Member of the Disciplinary Committee of the Choirmasters’ Association during its meeting held yesterday, November 2, 2014 at Mt. Zion Lighthouse Full Gospel Church, Ikot Esu, 2 Diamond Lane, Diamond Hill, Calabar in recognition of his disciplinary character in the Choirmasters’ Association, G1 Music, his church and the Classical World at large. We in G1 Music and general public congratulates you on your appointment and pray the good Lord to grant you more grace to exercise your duties to fullest in Jesus Name – Amen. The Classical World, Choirs, Chorale Groups, HOWASSOM and lovers of music in Calabar, the capital city of Cross River State was thrown into sorrow and mourning as a NIGHTINGALE – Ededet Asuquo was laid to rest after a Funeral Service on Saturday, 1st November, 2014 at The Apostolic Church, Efut Abua Assembly. In a message by the Pastor in-charge, the man of God admonished all to take consolation in the fact that God, his creator was the one that has called him back to rest. The activities marking the Home Call of the departed Nightingale – Ededet Asuquo as was gathered by G1 News Centre reveals that Monday, 27th October, 2014 was opening of mourning house at the deceased residence, Tuesday, 27th October, 2014 was Service of Songs by HOWASSOM held at HOWASSOM Centre and also Night of Songs was held at The Apostolic Church, Efut Abua Assembly by Howell Street, Calabar. In attendance were Minister’s of God, Presbytery, church members, G1nian Elder Charles Effiong, G1nian Mary Essien, members of HOWASSOM, Choristers from The Apostolic Church, Calabar Field and Classical Music Lovers all over the World. The Chief Executive Director of G1 Chorale Voices sent our heartfelt condolences to HOWASSOM on behalf of G1 Music. In separate interviews, those present and interviewed expressed their shock at the demise of the deceased at the age of 31. But knowing too well that it was the will of God, they had no option to question God believing that the is resurrection after death and that blessed is the dead in Christ for they shall rest from their labours, and their works do follow them, finally they prayed for his soul to rest in the bossom of Christ till the last day when we all shall meet to part no more. The Swearing-in Ceremony of the newly elected Admin and Publicity Secretary of G1 Music for the months of November, 2014 to January 2015 have been held. The event commenced at 12:00noon on Saturday, 1st November, 2014 at the Conference Centre of G1 Music in Calabar. The event started with rendition of the Hymn “All Hail the Power of Jesus Name” followed by opening prayers said by G1nian Hogan Zion. The Chief Executive Director/Music Director/Eleco Chairman presented the opening speech. He thanked God for the grace and mercies He has shown to G1 Music right from inception, noting that he was delighted to witness another swearing-in ceremony. He went further to welcome all participants and declared the event open in the name of the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit. His speech made the whole house to stand while applauding as the speech was mind-blowing and captivating. After his speech the G1 Chorale Anthem “The Pledge” was rendered as conducted by G1nian Sam UBI, and on the Piano was the CED-G1nian Gorditex Effiong. A valedictory speech was presented by the outgoing Admin & Publicity Secretary – G1nian Sam UBI & G1nian Rebecca Fred. They both thanked God for the grace He bestowed on them to accomplish their task and also appreciated G1nians and fans for the cordiality accorded them during their tenure and prayed God to strengthen and enable the new Admin & Pub. Secretary and pleaded G1nians and fans to also extend such cordiality accorded them to the new Admin & Pub. Secretary. Before acceptance speech by the new Admin and Publicity Secretary, there was call for an anthem to be presented. The anthem “My Heart is Inditing” from Handel’s coronation anthem was rendered by the G1 Chorale Voices. It was conducted by G1nian Charles Effiong and on the piano was G1nian Gorditex Effiong (CED). The new Admin, represented by the outgoing Admin was welcomed on stage with a loud applause from all present. The whole house stood to their feet throughout the period of the speech. In her speech, she thanked God for the grace and opportunity given to her, and appreciated G1nians and fans that voted her into the office of the Admin, and promised not to betray their trust, in her brief speech, she appealed to all G1nians to pray for her success and pleaded for cooperation from all. In like manner, the new Publicity Secretary could not hide her joy, before she mounted the podium she was filled with smiles and joy for being found worthy to be the Pub. Secretary. After the CED’s closing speech, the G1 Chorale Voices presented an anthem via “The Pledge” and the event ended with a closing prayer by G1nian Christy Sam UBI.
