GAA Handball Boys & Girls Leinster Juvenile 40X20 Finals Preview.. The GAA Handball Leinster 40X20 Juvenile Finals take place this weekend at 3 venues on Friday and Saturday and we have high hopes that by close of business we will have secured at least some silverware.. Tinryland,Carlow (7:00pm) is the starting point on Friday evening as St.Marys Todd Hynes steps out in the Boys U-14 Singles Final against Ciaran Cooney (Kilkenny) in what looks a good class contest but unless the Kilkenny man produces something really special I can’t see him progressing..Girls U-16 Doubles are up next with our own Roisin Walsh having the accolade of being our first Final representative as she teams up with Glen Fuels Handballer of the Year Holly Hynes (St.Marys) ~ this is a Game the Girls can win and win with authority.. Saturday morning in Borris,Carlow will play host to the eagerly awaited Boys U-12 Singles Final between Richard Lawlor and Kyle Dunne (Kilkenny),the Kilkenny youngster is very well fancied on Noreside and defeat seems to be out of the equation but he’ll have to be a good one to lower the colours of Richard Lawlor..Girls U-12 Doubles looks booked for Kilkenny as Noelle Dowling & Roisin Foley take on Alibeth Curran & Niamh Millar (Ballymitty)..The Wexford Girls are up against it here to be honest and they need to excel themselves..Boys U-13 Doubles should be within our compass as Josh McMahon & Cian Kehoe take on Billy O’Neill & Jack Buggy (Kilkenny) ~ if they play like they can they should have the winning of this so it’s out quick and make all the running..Tinryland sees the collision of 4 talented Girls in the U-14 Doubles ~ St.Josephs V’s Leixlip / Wexford V’s Kildare in what should be a cracker..Mollie Dagg is one of the most gifted Girls to grace a Handball Court that I have seen in the last 10 Years and she along with Niamh Spence,daughter of the tremendously talented Anna Spence-Wrynn will provide a major test for Emma & Eva but I fancy our Girls to upset the Kildare duo if they play to their capabilities..We send in the heavy artillery to Leixlip on Saturday morning and all 3 have difficult assignments ~ Boys U-12 Doubles Diarmuid & Josh face up to Tiernach Doheny & Conor Delaney (Laois) who had a fantastic Semi-Final victory against Kilkenny but there is no getting away from the fact that our lads are Handballer’s of the highest quality and I expect them to have too many gears on this occasion.. As an aside it is greatly encouraging and very welcome to see the resurgence in Laois Juvenile Handball and we will be looking forward to Monivea visiting us again shortly..Daniel Kavanagh takes on local boy Kevin Diggins (Leixlip,Kildare) in the Boys U-16 Singles Final but despite homefield advantage and a great Semi-Final win over Shane Dunne (Kilkenny) I think Daniel will have too many shots for Kevin but it should be an interesting encounter..Cora Doyle and Leah Doyle (Leixlip,Kildare) go head to head in the much anticipated Girls U-14 Singles Final..Cora bids to add to her recent Co.U-14 Singles success against Leah the stand out player in the age group in the last few Years but I fully expect Cora to win and win convincingly..
