GABORONE DAM NEAR FAILURE Gaborone Dam water level has hit a record low of 5.8%. Water Utilities Corporation’s spokesperson, Matida Mmipi, told Yarona Fm news that the dam will dry up unless there is a substantial amount of rain fall. She however reassured residents of Gaborone and surrounding areas that water supply will be sustained by the North South Water Carrier-NSC supply scheme. The NSC pipe which transports water from Letsibogo Dam- currently supplies about 40% of the daily demand of Gaborone and surrounding areas. (PHOTO: )
