GAFAKAN AKKO WROTE ==> One of the spiritual objectives of fasting is... 1.fasting promote consciousness of Allah (piety)as Allah swt has told us in the quranic passage of 2:183 that fasting is prescribe for you.....so that you may be conscious of Allah. Fasting is done out of consciousness of Allah because its possible for one to eat or drink in secret and still be pretend that one is fasting,if one is not conscious of Allah,who sees all things. By keeping Allahs injunctions of fasting,one is training oneself to be conscious of Allahs existence and obey his injunctions so as to be close to him. 2.closeness to Allah it self is achieved through consciousness of Allah and the carrying out of devotional activities during fasting. 3.fasting is an act of worship,it demonstrates obedience to Allah. 4.Reward of Allah is due to any one who fasts as prescribed. The greatest of such reward is Paradise in the hereafter.
