GAK9 K-9 Manhunters Zurich Police Handlers Course was a hit! The three week tour is over and as much as I am excited to go home I will miss all of my new and old friends. Our style is becoming much more popular and the rank and file are seeing the benefit of a strong, conservative approach to trailing training. Holland and Dusseldorf had a fantastic mix of super trailing dogs and everything I would look for in SAR. This last group of police K9 handlers was simply top notch. I thoroughly enjoyed watching some new things and having the opportunity to teach here. It is a rare thing to have a course like this in Europe but it is obvious to me that the trend is set and there will be many more. There are few dogs that have the work drive like our police K9s. The dogs are every bit the man trailer as any other out there. Patrol K9 are the best of the best. There are no special man trailing dogs simply based on breed or mysterious training. There are only dogs that have the correct drive and those that do not. Add solid, tiered training to the mix and we have real man hunters that find people and handlers who do far more than simply talk about it. The results are already there, our dogs are the ones out their finding people on a regular basis. Thank you to everyone!
