GALGATE - EXTENSION OF RESIDENTIAL MOORINGS Reply from British - TopicsExpress

GALGATE - EXTENSION OF RESIDENTIAL MOORINGS Reply from British Waterways Marinas Ltd. Not long ago, we achieved planning permission to offer residential moorings at Galgate Marina. Since then we have reached a point at which we have more customers wanting residential moorings than what we are currently providing and so we are now going to be changing some of the unused cruiser moorings to accommodate longer boats for residential use. We will be removing cruiser fingers from two of the three existing pontoons in the cruiser basin. This will leave the two main pontoons without fingers attached. A third main pontoon will be installed in between these two. This will allow us to provide seven residential purpose berths for use most likely by narrowboat owners. A pontoon with fingers accommodating cruisers will remain untouched. We will be adding water and electricity to this section of the marina as well. The angle will not change and they will not be extended further into the canal. Therefore there will be no impact on visitor moorings or the navigation past this section of the marina. This project allows us to accommodate customers who would like to reside at Galgate but currently cannot be offered a berth. It will also allow us to provide an area of the marina with electricity and water for cruiser customers who have long wanted the provision. I hope that this explains the plan and gives you enough detail, but if I can be of further assistance, please do let me know.
