GALLE DIALOGUE 2014 Ambassador Louis Piët, Rear Admiral Ben Bekkering, Deputy Commander of the Royal Netherlands Navy, Defense Attaché of the Netherlands Colonel Dr. Drs. Allard Wagemaker have attended the Galle Dialogue 2014 conference. Defence Attaché Allard Wagemaker said about the conference: ”The Dialogue is an excellent way to communicate about security in the Indian Ocean region. The Sri Lankan Navy has done their utmost to successfully organize one of the leading conferences in the region”. Rear Admiral Ben Bekkering addressed the participants and spoke of “How to Develop Maritime Partnerships”. This was followed by an interessting discussion on the topic. The Galle Dialogue has been organized for the fifth time since 2009. It has become an established forum to discuss and exchange matters of regional maritime security concerns. The theme for Galle Dialogue 2014 was “Cooperation and Collaboration for Maritime Prosperity” . During this two day event the forum explored and discussed ways and means to synergize efforts of cooperation and collaboration.
