GAME WRAP: As a result of a data center outage, MASNsports is currently down. Because of the outage, here is a game wrap of the Nats win in Houston. Once the Washington Nationals offense got going, right-hander Jordan Zimmermann had no trouble becoming the winningest pitcher in team history. Anthony Rendon had four hits, including a home run, and three RBIs, and Zimmermann combined with three relievers on a shutout as the Nats completed a two-game sweep with a 7-0 victory over the Astros on Wednesday night. Zimmermann posted his 45th victory for the Nats, breaking a tie with Livan Hernandez atop the team’s all-time wins register. He scattered seven hits and walked one in 6 1/3 innings, striking out seven. Rendon excelled in his hometown with a large throng of friends and family members in attendance at Minute Maid Park. He doubled in the first, singled in the third, hit a two-run double in a four-run fourth and lined a homer to right in the sixth. The Nats pounded out 13 hits in the win, with Denard Span, Kevin Frandsen and Danny Espinosa contributing two apiece. Espinosa homered in the fifth, a solo shot to left. After an off-day Thursday, the Nats continue their road trip with three games in Philadelphia. We thank you for your patience and for choosing MASN for all your Nationals news. We are doing all that we can to get the site back up and running.
