GARDENIA Written by Mandy Moore & Chantal Kreviazuk https://youtube/watch?v=M6z5nuzFwvM Well, I put so much thought into getting ready Now I know that was the best part Its so easy to get caught up in what Im regretting Forget what I got from a wounded heart [Chorus:] Im the one who likes gardenia Im the one who likes to make love on the floor I dont want to hang up the phone yet Its been good Getting to know me more Ive been seeing all my old friends in the city Walking alone in Central Park Doing all the things that Ive neglected Traded em all in To be in your arms [Chorus] Well, I hear my own voice Sounds so silly Keep on telling my story all around Everything I lost seems so different Well, this is how everybody gets found - Lyrics from Songmeanings at songmeanings/songs/view/3530822107858662409/ Touching on the themes of finding, growing, loving, losing and beginning again, GARDENIA serves as the soundtrack to BLOOM, my meditation on growing bravely into ones own beauty through the seasons of life: tuningintoinspiration.wordpress/2014/12/14/bloom/ The poem is inspired by the fallen white frangipani blossoms I collect from the foot of a tree on a corner of my neighbors house and arrange in a dish of ice water beside my computer almost every day. Ive fallen hopelessly in love with these plain blooms. As buds, they open up and reach for the sun from high up a tree. With their petals wide open, frangipanis give off a mildly florid scent that actually becomes stronger as they whither and die. Then at their most beautiful stage, they let go of their hold on the tree to kiss and become one with the earth that gave birth to them. Im grateful to Mother Nature for this lesson about what it means to be truly beautiful. Get more #wordsimagesmusic over at Tuning in to Inspiration: tuningintoinspiration.wordpress
