GATE’14 will be conducted Online for All Streams. Hence the TarGATE Test Series has been converted to Online TarGATE (OTG). There are two test series packages now – Online TarGATE and Online Test Series. Online TarGATE 1. There will be 17 Full Length Tests (FLTs) and 60 Sectional Tests. Out of these 17 FLTs, 13 will be Self Administered, and can be taken at home using a computer and internet connection while 4 will be Monitored, which will have to be taken in a computer lab at a venue specified by us, under exact Online GATE like test conditions. 2. For all the FLTs (both self administered and monitored) there will be a window period specified during which the students have to take the test i.e the each test will be made open according to a schedule and will also close according to a schedule. The comparative analysis (AIR, Percentile, Score etc) for a test will be available to a student only after the closing date of that particular test. In case a student takes up the self administered FLT after the closing date, this comparative analysis will not be given. 3. For the monitored tests, there will be multiple slots available for each test. A student will have to book his or her slot on a first come first served basis. The slot booking will be online through the gateforum 4. In case of student is not coming to the Test Venue to appear for the Monitored Test during the Time Slot allotted, then he or she can take up the Test only after the closing date for that particular test. Please note that in such cases, only the marks and a basic performance report will be given and not the comparative analysis (For eg: AIR & Percentile etc.) 5. The POSTAL Mode of Test Series will no longer be valid for Online TarGATE. The idea here is to emphasize on the fact that student will be more beneficial, if he attempts for the Examination in exact GATE like conditions i.e. in Monitored Mode and will have to take up the test at the nearest center. Subsequently, in the Enrollment Form-2014, please strike off the option of TarGATE Mode Section, before issuing to the student. The option of Test Series Mode from GIS has already been disabled. 6. Online TarGATE will start from November (tentative schedule). The exact schedule will be released shortly. Online Test Series 1. OTS will consist of 7 full length tests (FLTs) and 30 section tests. All the FLTs will be self administered tests and the rules for self administered FLTs of the Online TarGATE will apply here as well. Online Test Series will start from December(tentative schedule).
