GAUTENG DEPARTMENT OF ROADS AND TRANSPORT POST: ASSISTANT DIRECTOR: BUDGET CONTROL REF NO: 02535 Directorate: Management Accounting SALARY: R252 144 per annum (plus benefits) CENTRE: Johannesburg (Head Office) REQUIREMENTS: A relevant degree or diploma in Accounting/ Economics/ Public Finance and any other finance related field with 3 years’ experience in the administration of the budget on BAS and reporting; procurement policies and procedures; administrative and organizational skills. Sound understanding of basic accounting principles, sound knowledge and understanding of the PFMA. Strong computer skills, especially Excel and Word. Good interpersonal relations, ability to work effectively with the team within Finance; and attention to detail. Communication skills (writing, verbal and reading). DUTIES: Update and capture departmental budgets and forecasts on the system. Check and clear misallocations on the system by passing correcting journals. Prepare information for Budget shifts for the Budget Planning sub-directorate to implement. Ensure SCM’s compliance requirements for capturing and approving requisition orders and/or payment advises. Assist in the development and updating of the costing structure on. Analyse the BAS expenditure report in relation to all items and provide feedback to the supervisor. Provide training and support to personnel in the department. Manage cashflow projections and budget shifts. Ensure compliance to relevant applicable legislation – PFMA/Treasury Regulations.
