GAUTENG TRAFFIC POLICE WARN MOTORISTS ON ANTICIPATED BAD WEATHER CONDITIONS (RAIN) ACROSS GAUTENG OVER THE WEEKEND 08 AND 09 MARCH 2014. Motorists are warned of heavy rain over the weekend, it is expected that roads/freeway will be wet, slippery and some areas will be flooded. Drivers and other road users are advised to avoid the following due to Collapsed or Poor road surface, Potholes and floods. Bryanston corner Sprinhill street and Colraine street (collapsed road surface). Lanseria on the N14 approaching Jukskei river (Potholes) Roodepoort on Main reef road betwwen West lake and Commando road towards JHB CBD Randburg on Malibongwe drive and Abson street (very poor road surface) Midrand on Liver road between New road and Olifantsfontein road Centurion on Rabie street and John Voster drive ( closed due floods) Centurion on Linchin avenue near the Lake Load shedding also contributing to delays on Gautengs roads/freeways due to ROBOTS out of sink We urge motorists to TREAT TRAFFIC LIGHTS NOT WORKING AS 4-WAY STOP WITH NECCESSARY CAUTION AND ALSO TO BE PATIENT. Motorists and other road users are advised to avoid Low-lying bridges and flooded areas. Reduce speed especially in build up areas Keep a safe following distance, 2 or 4 seconds between the car in front and your vehicle. Due to Poor Visibility drivers are advised to switch on head lights for road users to see approaching vehicles and for motorists to see them. Be considerate towards Pedestrians, Look out for them they might cross streets/roads carelessly due to pressure from rain.
