GAZA BITES BACK AT NETANYAHU : RATINGS DOWN Fewer than four in 10 Israelis think Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu is doing a good job, down from a record 82 percent around a month ago. Gaza seems to have taken a toll despite the brave face all are putting on it for the sake of national unity. Netanyahu has come under fire even from his own ranks about how he has squandered especially Israels diplomatic advantage and the mass destruction targeting palestinian civilians. His abrasive style and show-off even to staunch allies such as the United States has not won him friends. He is finding it hard to find defenders and those willing to speak good of him with a straight face. Hamas within the hour has said a ceasefire aimed at ending more than seven weeks of fighting in Gaza has been agreed though the Israelis are still short on confirmation.
