GBM Has No Leadership Qualities -Kambwili ROAN member of parliament Chishimba Kambwili has pleaded with Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba to rethink his decision of supporting the UPND ahead of this month’s presidential election. And Kambwili says Mwamba is limited in his thinking because of his levels of education. Kambwili said he had called Mwamba twice since he made the decision to support UPND to ask him to rethink his decision. “We appreciate his contributions to the party but that does not mean he is the only one. There are some of us who started the party from day one and we are the people who should be claiming that the PF would not be where it is without us. We were funding the party before he came in,” he said. “The problem with GBM is that he thinks money is everything. Let him not be deceived with those hired crowds he is seeing in Kasama; that does not mean popularity. He is my brother and friend, I respect him very much but what he has done is the worst thing anybody can do against his party. How can you be drinking tea from the devil’s cup and the Lord’s cup at the same time? He is saying he has endorsed Hakainde Hichilema and at the same time he is saying he is still PF.” Kambwili accused Mwamba of making emotional decisions. “To me, GBM is not a factor. He has no leadership qualities. He has got the knowledge to do business but I think politics is not for him; he has got no leadership qualities. He is saying he is a political heavyweight [but] he was beaten by Miles Sampa at the [elective party] convention – a deputy minister, so where is his popularity? If he wants, let him wait for the results in Kasama and he will see,” said Kambwili. “The problem with GBM is that he does not think before he does anything. He is limited in thinking and I think it is because of the levels of his education. PF is bigger than GBM and any individual. A lot of PF members have contributed to the PF for it to be where it is today but they don’t talk about it. The idea of wanting people to kneel before you to join them in the campaigns is wrong. If he wants to join the campaigns, why can’t he just do so?” On Monday, Mwamba announced his support for the UPND in the January 20 presidential election, saying the PF boat had cracked and was sinking.
