GDP Rebasing is now trending Yes now, another catch phrase to whet our appetites and give us the feel good sensations.... One cannot really quarrel with the theories espoused as these are premised on a best case scenario... Nigerians want to see visible manifestation that show an improvement in the standard and quality of living of the common man... all these GDP rebasing and all are just distractions and tools of propaganda to distract from the important conversations that we need to have. Rebasing is done in terms of potential, but you dont achieve potential by dreaming or else you end up building castles in the air.... Any serious nation with potential but that also has the developmental and infrastructural challenges Nigeria has will be focusing on addressing these instead of gloating over theoretical assumptions that are not reflected by the realities on the ground I am afraid that I dont share the optimism of those that are getting excited about this rebasing deal because I dont think we have the leadership that has the vision, the capacity or the determination to do what has to be done to get us to where the potential we have can take us.
