GENERAL AVIATION NEWS :- RUSSIA TO SUPPLY SUKHOI SU-24 FENCER AIRCRAFT TO ARGENTINA IN EXCHANGE FOR FOOD? It has been reported that Russia and Argentina are slated to be conversing a possible deal which would see Russia lease up to 12 Sukhoi Su-24 Fencer aircraft to Argentina in return for wheat and beef... The Sukhoi Su-24MK Fencer is an all-weather, twin-engine land and maritime attack/ strike aircraft that has a range of up to and including 2,775km. With this been said, it has also been reported that the UKs Ministry of Defence has launched a review of their air defences for the Falklands Islands... A statement was released by the Ministry of Defence saying; The MoD undertakes regular assessments of potential military threats to the Falkland Islands to ensure that we retain an appropriate level of defensive capability to address any threats. We continue to remain vigilant and committed to the protection of the Falkland Islanders. This comes after both the UK and Argentina were involved in a short war over the Falklands Islands in 1982... Not long ago, Argentina and Sweden were in discussions for the possible sale of their SAAB JAS-39NG Gripen but the UK blocked the deal. This comes as British companies produce close to 30% of the hardware in the new JAS-39NG variant of the aircraft... What do you all think of the potential deal?
