GEOMAGNETIC UNREST: A stream of fast-moving solar wind is buffeting Earths magnetic field, and this is causing G1-class geomagnetic storms around the poles. In the heavens above the tiny hamlet of Old Crow in the Yukon Territory, the northern lights make a rather dramatic appearance this weekend. The source of the solar winds is from the indicated large coronal hole. More auroras are in the offing. NOAA forecasters estimate a 40% chance of polar geomagnetic storms on Dec. 8th as the solar wind continues to blow.
