GEORGE TOWN, Aug 19 - Police raided a service apartment in Sungai Nibong here Monday and shot dead five men believed to be members of the 04 Gang. The men, in their 20s and 30s, are believed to have been involved in at least 10 cases of shooting in the state this year. Penang Police chief Datuk Abdul Rahim Hanafi, who confirmed the raid, said police were conducting a thorough check at the scene. He said Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar is scheduled to give a news conference on the shooting later today. It is learnt that police had been monitoring the activities of the gang members before moving in on them at 4.45 am outside a unit on the 11th floor of the apartment building.
