GET INVOLVED WITH HISTORIC PRESERVATION! Join the Historic Preservation Discussion! Meetings held this and next month… The Deschutes County Community Development Department is developing a historic preservation strategic plan for rural Deschutes County and the City of Sisters. Community workshops are being held in September and October to hear your input. The strategic plan will provide a framework for shaping the rural county and Sisters’ preservation programs and services over the next five years. The plan will also create a blueprint for allocating Certified Local Government (CLG) grant funding. By participating at one of the public meetings listed below, stakeholders, historic landmark owners, and community members can provide feedback that will help prioritize preservation programs. September 23 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Des Chutes Historical Museum 129 NW Idaho Avenue, Bend October 8th 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Deschutes Services Building DeArmond Room, 1300 NW Wall Street, Bend Interested parties can also complete an informal online survey available at surveymonkey/s/deschuteshistoric or submit comments directly to staff.
