GETTING TO KNOW YOU- check out our featured employee this week, David Loverich, Skilled Trades Recruiter in our Tacoma, WA office! This week we are happy to introduce you to David Loverich, Skilled Trades Recruiter with our Tacoma team. David has really made an impact thus far with our Tacoma team. He brings a good sense of humor and a strong work ethic. When I asked him about his love of Ocelots and Glengoole Blue he told me “You better call Kenny Loggins, cause your entering the danger zone.” But more to the point Shelley says about David “David has an outstanding work ethic to his desk on a daily basis! He is typically one of the first in the office arriving 30 minutes to prepare for his busy day and often the last to leave! He is very driven to succeed in Skilled Trades and feels accountable to the Tacoma team in terms of selling all divisions of our business. I think one of his biggest strengths is building relationships. His passion for Opti is only equally matched with his passion for the SEATTLE SEAHAWKS! Yes, the fun banter and the occasional bet shows his competitive spirit.” Thanks for sharing this week David! - What is your favorite thing about working at Opti? Besides the camaraderie and cat jokes with my co-workers, I would have to say helping people get jobs so they can take care of their families. I love getting those “thank you” phone calls. - Tell us about the funniest/most memorable/embarrassing moment of your time at Opti so far? Over the summer I scheduled an interview at Berco and my candidate showed up in my office instead at the scheduled interview time thinking the interview was being held here. I jumped up and drove him to Berco. Along the way, we stopped for police officers crossing a busy street to arrest someone. The suspect punched an officer and tried to run away. They caught him and subdued him. Rather than provide a witness statement, I rushed to the interview. I couldn’t let the client down! - What is your favorite I cant believe that candidate just did/said that moment…I had an EL01 basically hired at a well-known client of ours and when they asked him, “is there anything you’d like to add?” He replied with, “Well, to be honest, I’m battling depression and sometimes have accountability issues”. Needless to say, He didn’t get the job. . -Tell us about your biggest win of your Opti Career thus far? Winning $100 from Saul on the Seahawks making the Super Bowl. And every placement I’ve made prior. - What is a best practice/advice that youd love to share with a new recruiter? Don’t get overwhelmed and ask questions. Be patient. Focus on building relationships with clients and candidates and the rest will take care of itself. - What did you want to be when you grew up? A pro surfer but the movie Jaws kind of ruined that dream for me… - What is your favorite food/restaurant? I love Mexican food and sushi. My favorite restaurant though is Sakuras in Tacoma. - Sports - what team do you root for? Favorite sport to watch/play....I root for the 2014 Super Bowl champs, the Seahawks . I also love the Huskies and NCAA wrestling. I’ve played/competed in swimming, wrestling, soccer and Crossfit. - Music - favorite band/ last concert you went to....I love rock and country. Too many bands to list but I usually lean towards the Foo Fighters and Tim McGraw. Last concert I attended was the Watershed County Music Festival at the Gorge. - If you were a super hero, who would you be & why? Besides Russell Wilson or Richard Sherman, I’d have to say Superman. Because he’s a good guy and nobody comes close to his speed, power and strength. - What are your must have snacks/drinks for Baseball/Football game or Movies? A nice cold Stone IPA or Ben and Jerry’s ice cream. Not at the same time though. Beer and sweets don’t mix well for me.
