GH¢56 million for Local Farmers As part of the NDC 2012 manifesto to channel more resources to the agriculture sector following the amendment of the EDIF Law. • An amount of GH 55,806,267.00 has been approved as credit and project facilities by the board of the Export Trade, Agricultural and Industrial Development Fund (EDAIF) to local farmers. • The amount was released in February, 2014 for 10 businesses engaged in different sectors of the economy. • The approval is in line with the Fund’s objective of providing financial resources for the development and promotion of export trade, agro processing and industrial development. • GH¢ 46541.00 out of the total approval was for new credits and projects whiles GH ¢9265209.00 was for rescheduled credit facilities. • The purpose of the credit facilities advanced in maintenance of existing farms, irrigation, augmenting working capital, refinancing of existing loans etc to meet international standards.
