GHS SOPHOMORE SELECTED FOR NAVAL ACADEMY PROGRAM Kaylee Keating, a sophomore at Granbury High School, has been selected to attend the STEM summer program to be held in June 2014 at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. The academy focuses on four areas during the Summer STEM Program: Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. This program is designed to encourage rising students in eighth, ninth, tenth, and eleventh grade to pursue a course of study in engineering and technology throughout high school and college. At the camp, participants gain exposure to one of the best undergraduate engineering programs in the country, spend time in world-class lab facilities that provide a learning environment outside the traditional classroom, experience real-life application of math and science principles through hands-on practical learning, and meet like-minded students who share a similar interest in technology and engineering.
