GINGER CRUNCH .... (Ingredients for Base) 1 1/2 Cups S/R Wholemeal Flour 125 gms Raw Sugar 2 Tspns Ground Ginger 125 gms Butter Method:- Combine Flour, Raw Sugar, Ground Ginger, then add Butter & mix thoroughly. Press mixture into greased flat Baking Tray . Bake in Oven (Conventional) at 180* for 15-20 mins (or, until light Golden Brown.) When removed from Oven & still warm Cut into squares. ICING :- 2 Tbspns Butter 1 Tbspn Golden Syrup 1 Cup Icing Sugar 1 Tspn Ground Ginger Method:- In a small Pot - Melt Butter & Golden Syrup, add Icing Sugar & Ginger Powder, stir into Mix. (if necessary add a little hot Water to get the right Icing consistency.) Double Recipe to make a more generous amount - this is a real Family pleaser ! Being a Traditional New Zealand Family Recipe.)
