GIS 12/12/14 Killington Ski Conditions Damon was clearing out - TopicsExpress

GIS 12/12/14 Killington Ski Conditions Damon was clearing out after dumping about 2 and 1/2 feet of snow. Summit temp of 28 degrees on a day when all were glad to have the K1 running. Floated down the Downdraft Headwall for a dreamy warm-up. Continued right on down to the mid and lower sections of my favorite canyon run. When Downdraft is skiing this nice it is going to be a great morning in the canyon. Steep trees were open and awesome with a few powder shots left for the weekend hunters. Weedy powder on the right side of Middle Ovation had nice float. Lower O has a few rocks to avoid. Took a Slowden Quad lunch break followed by Low Rider with mostly untracked found in spots. Catwalk run found the snow stuck to the trail and was good as our summit natural run gets. Closed the Peak bar then right out onto the top of Cascade for a cool down lap. Arrived at the K1 before 4 but we pasted as the best day of my season was in the bag. Grade - A Quote of the Day - Trees are open and awesome.
